2007 NCOWS CONVENTION UPDATE

The 2007 convention is once again almost here and is it going to be another great event to attend! We are in the final stages of finishing this up and still need some volunteers to help make this a huge success. You can be proud of this Old West Show & Sale and you will not want to miss this regardless of where you are.

This is the official website for this convention and is the same one from last year. Conventioneer and vendor information is listed here and can be down loaded (be patient it takes awhile) and forms can be printed. You will have to mail them to: NCOWS Convention, PO Box 460784, Papillion, NE 68046-0784 before January 10th, 2007. Please be aware this is also the last date to cancel for conventioneer or vendor and receive a refund. I strongly encourage you to copy forms from this site and hand them out to your friends, those you know that would be interested in attending and delivering copies to local businesses to post for the general public. Let's get the word out and continue to really grow this event. Once again, share your excitement and bring someone new along or someone who hasn't been here for a while! It will be another excellent event.

Hotel reservations can be made by calling our Official Hotel: Country Inn & Suites at 1-866-322-8282 or by emailing them at cx_COBL@CountryInns.com . Remember: mention you are an NCOWS member and a portion of each room rental during our convention at Country Inn & Suites will be donated to NCOWS to help pay for the convention. The convention site is the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs and is located off the juncture of I-29 and I-80. There is also the largest Bass Pro Shop ever built and it has just opened November 2005 and is on site. So you won't want to miss this as well. Now on with the seminar information.

The seminars for this convention are included in the registration fee and if you sign up for seminars you must attend those seminars. Space permitting the general public may attend for $5 per day donation and $5 per seminar. If you register as a conventioneer you may have free daily admission into the event, attend as many seminars as you want and also get into the banquet for a total of $35.00. If you decide to not register and want to attend it will be $5 a day donation, $5 each seminar you go to and $25 for a single admission to the banquet! So, register as a conventioneer and save some money. This is your benefit as a NCOWS member. The seminar presenters are all professional, interesting, cover topics we all love and need to review/refresh on. We really do have a diverse selection of topics being presented and I have several more tentatively on tap for Sunday afternoon providing those commitments are made.

Seminar information is as follows:

Seminar Schedule To Be Announced - Please check back soon...

The Banquet Social Hour will begin at 5:45 PM Saturday evening and run in conjunction with the Old West Saloon activities until 7:15 PM for prize raffles. You must purchase a banquet ticket to participate if not registered as a conventioneer. The banquet will begin after that and throughout the evening music will be provided. There is an opportunity for a formal Old West Concert featuring authentic music, however, this has not yet been confirmed at this time. So, lots of different quality activities are scheduled with many other activities pending.

There will also be historic displays on hand, the Ladies Tea, best dressed costume contest, the Style Show, prize raffles, living history presentations, the Congress meeting, lots of Old West vendors, and a whole bunch of great old fashioned fun!

In summary, this convention will once again be one to remember for its cultural diversity and history and will really be one you won't want to miss. As always, this convention will mirror all the effort and time we all put into it. So, once again thank you for carrying on with the Old West spirit and the great effort you will put into it. Now letÂ’s have some fun and share what NCOWS is all about.

In the Old West,

John Irons

2007 Convention Coordinator
